The Diamniadio hospital, the main care structure for patients with COVID-19 in Senegal, on March 18, 2020, dedicated a wing to the service of COVID-19 where patients are placed in isolation.
Opened on March 17, this service needs everything. The teams are highly dedicated to their work and are looking for the best ways to relieve patients.
Unfortunately, this is insufficient given the lack of material and equipment.
Hospital personnel lack hygiene products and protective equipment.
The patients are in rooms with medical equipment close to international standards but whose room equipment is more than basic and limited. Windows do not have curtains, hygiene products are lacking, cleaning and disinfection materials are limited, food is simplistic. We are only at the beginning of the epidemic in Senegal.
